History
Roman soldiers traditionally carried tiger's eye into battle, believing the stone offered protection and strength during combat. In ancient Egypt, the distinctive optical effect of the mineral was associated with the all-seeing eyes of revered deities, and it was often utilised in the eyes of deity statues to represent divine vision. The stone's name is a direct reference to its chatoyancy, a visual phenomenon reflecting light in a band that strongly resembles the slit pupil of a feline.
