About this Citrine bracelet

Citrine has been called the merchant's stone for centuries — referenced in Vedic and early Chinese mercantile traditions as the stone for clarity in commerce and creative momentum. The warm yellow tone is the visual cue: a glance at your wrist before a sales call, a job interview, a difficult conversation about money.

Shop owners wear it through the December rush. Founders wear it on launch day. Students wear it through final exams in November and through results in January. Every bracelet is handcrafted in our Pointe aux Sables atelier. Add

History

Ancient Greeks carved iconic ornaments from citrine as early as the Hellenistic Age, while seventeenth-century Scottish weapon makers frequently used the stone to decorate the handles of daggers and swords. In more recent traditions, it has been widely referred to as the 'merchant's stone' due to its long-standing association with commercial success and the accumulation of wealth. The name citrine derives from the Latin word citrina and the Old French word citrin, both directly translating to yellow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear citrine to work every day?

Yes. The stones are durable enough for daily wear across an office, retail floor, or classroom. Take it off before swimming in the lagoon, showering, or doing physical work that might catch the cord — those three are what shorten a bracelet's life faster than anything else.

How do I cleanse and recharge citrine in our climate?

Avoid water — Mauritian humidity is already hard on the elastic and on any metal findings. Wipe the yellow beads with a dry microfibre cloth. A few minutes of soft morning sun is fine for recharging, but don't leave the bracelet in prolonged direct sun. A soft moonlight overnight is the safer way to recharge.

Is citrine a good gift for graduation or a new venture?

It's one of the most-chosen stones for both. Tradition associates it with clarity, motivation, and abundance — a fitting gesture for someone stepping into university, a first job, or starting their own business. Because you choose the bead size and stringing in the designer, the piece reads as personal rather than generic.

Will citrine fade in the sun?

Citrine's warm tone can soften with prolonged direct sunlight. A few minutes of morning sun is fine — for energetic cleansing and recharging, that's all you need. Don't leave the bracelet on a sunny dashboard, a windowsill, or by the pool for hours at a time. A small pouch or jewellery box keeps the colour bright for years.
