About this Garnet bracelet

The ancient travellers' red talisman of enduring vitality and safe passage.

History

Garnets have been discovered in Bronze Age burial sites across Europe and were widely traded in ancient Rome for use as signet rings. Anglo-Saxon and Celtic cultures traditionally inlaid the deep red stone into weaponry and armour, believing it bestowed physical resilience and protection. It was famously carried by medieval explorers as a protective talisman against disaster during long journeys. The name derives from the Latin word 'granatum', meaning dark red seed, referencing the pomegranate.
