About this Sodalite bracelet

A deep blue stone traditionally associated with logical thought and clear communication.

History

Sodalite is a relatively recent discovery compared to ancient gemstones, first officially documented in Greenland in the early nineteenth century. It gained significant prominence in 1891 when large deposits were discovered in Canada, coinciding with a visit from the British royal family, leading to its traditional moniker 'Princess Blue'. The name is a literal reference to its high sodium content, combining 'soda' with the Greek 'lithos' for stone.
